Scholarships

To raise funds for their scholarship programs, the Zonta Club of Prince William County sells White House Christmas Ornaments each year.

These beautiful ornaments can be purchased from any member of the club and will be on sale for the public at the business locations of three members.

Young Women in Public Affairs Scholarship

This scholarship is designed to encourage young women to pursue careers and seek leadership positions in public policy, government, and volunteer organizations.

The Zonta International Young Women in Public Affairs (YWPA) Award program offers a Club prize, a cash award of US $500 at the District level and five awards of US $1,000 each at the International level.

The winner of the Zonta Club of Prince William County scholarship goes on to compete at the District 3 level and that winner then goes on to international competition for a $1000 scholarship.

Pre-university or pre-college women students, aged 16-20 years at the time of application.

The Goal of the program is to recognize:

  • commitment to the volunteer sector
  • evidence of volunteer leadership achievements and
  • dedication to the advancement of the status of women

and thus to encourage more women students to enter careers in public affairs, public policy and community organizations.

Jane M. Klausman – Women in Business Scholarships

General Information

The Zonta International Jane M. Klausman Women in Business Scholarships, first awarded in 1998, are open to women pursuing an undergraduate degree in business leading to a business management career. The program is designed to encourage undergraduate women to enter careers and to seek leadership positions in business-related fields. The Jane M. Klausman Women in Business Scholarship looks to the women of today to be the leaders of tomorrow.

The Scholarship

The Jane M. Klausman Women in Business Scholarships are awarded to women studying business at the undergraduate level who have demonstrated outstanding potential in the field. Zonta of Prince William will offer one scholarships in the amount of US $2,000 each. The scholarship may be used at any university, college or institute offering accredited courses and degrees.

Who is Eligible?

Women of any nationality pursuing an undergraduate business degree who demonstrate outstanding potential in the field are eligible. Members and employees of Zonta International or the Zonta International Foundation are not eligible to apply for the Scholarships.
