Each Zonta member is encouraged to select one or more committee assignments. A minimum of three members per committee is desirable.
- Service – The Service Committee initiates, coordinates, and supervises approved service projects such as selecting the Young Women in Public Affairs recipient, scholarship recipients, grant recipients, and other donations, and overseeing ‘hands-on projects. Chairperson attends board meetings. Submits monthly article for newsletter.
- The Status of Women – Recommends actions to accomplish the goal “to improve the legal, political, economic, and professional status of women.” Coordinates the PWC Woman-of-the-Year process and presentation.
- Amelia Earhart – This committee’s purpose is to promote interest in the Amelia Earhart Fellowship Fund. Plans the program for the January General Meeting.
- Membership & Classification – Determines the eligibility of each proposed member and reports changes in membership to Headquarters. In charge of updating the club brochure and membership packets. Follows up with potential members and guests after they attend a meeting. Submits new member profiles for insertion into newsletter.
- Fellowship – Plans activities to promote friendliness among club members and encourages an atmosphere of hospitality for guests. Plans about 2 functions per year. December is usually set aside for a fellowship activity in place of a regular meeting.
- Attendance – Records and promotes attendance, and enhances the recognition that regular attendance is an essential element of the club’s stability. This committee works with the Corresponding Secretary.
- Public Relations – Uses all forms of news media to advance the objectives of Zonta International. Sends press releases to local papers, cable stations, and Chamber of Commerce. Chairperson attends board meetings.
- Newsletter – Responsible for publishing a monthly club newsletter with program and meeting information, as well as covering club service projects, activities, and pertinent information from higher levels in the organization. Maintains mailing list.
- Website – update and maintains information on our website.
- Finance (Ways & Means) – Prepares annual budget and submits it to the board. Committee provides for an annual audit. Chairperson (usually the Treasurer) attends board meetings. During fund raisers, submits monthly article for the newsletter.
- Fundraising - Comes up with ways to raise money for the club, such as raffles, fashion shows, Holiday ornament sales, etc.
- Z-Club – (not developed as of yet) – Promotes the organization of Z Clubs (high schools) and Golden Z Clubs (colleges and universities) for leadership and community service.
